ITV's 60 MINUTE MAKEOVER on 10 January 2007 It was at the home of Mark Butcher in Ashford. Mark is surprising his mother Joy and brother Adrian. Joy is a single mother who works for a charity she set up after giving birth to Adrian who was born with autism. Joy set up Find A Voice ten years ago, to help people who have difficulties expressing their feelings and communicating. Adrian is now attending a college for people with disabilities, it teaches people how to live on their own. He comes back at weekends. The designer Souki Hildreth chose Tektura's BROCANTE wallcovering in a black/white rose design for Helen and Liam's room. HELEN & LIAMS ROOM
As tends to happen when a mother and baby share a room Helen had slightly lost herself in a new world of baby things, with many of her possessions rammed to the side. Our main aim with this room was to create a dual use room making two distinct areas. Too welcome Helen home from the hospital when baby born her mum painted the lilac walls – Not Helens first choice. She is 21 years old so wanted something more fashionable and bold. On Helens side for the room we used black and white wallpaper with a rose theme, to add a bit of fashionable decadence. Liams side was painted white with bold primary colours on the furniture to give it a bit of wow factor INFORMATION Tektura's BROCANTE rose design, colour ref 42350, is available in various colours. BROCANTE is available in rolls 53cm x 10m.
